These days what really brings me joy is using all of my tools and modalities to assist each individual client in the way that’s best for that person. I’m encouraged when clients allow themselves to feel better.
Yet it wasn’t always this way …
It’s familiar to me, that deep sense of feeling broken, powerless, and frustrated because nothing seems to help, as well as the fear and even depression that can go along with it.
I had more than a normal share of injuries when I was younger: a broken knee, separated shoulder, broken nose, broken ankle, and more. They often came from engaging in activities I loved. And that’s just a sample!
My working life exposed me to many of those everyday situations that cause anxiety, tension, and energetic blocks in the body and mind. As a youth I washed dishes at a fairground; I worked in a restaurant; and I had a career in the financial industry. I acquired a humble appreciation of how precious each day is. I saw how important it is to honor our human condition no matter what we’re going through. My heart opens to those who are coping with similar or worse difficulties in their daily lives and occupations.
Things changed when …
Throughout my past work and active lifestyle, one thing was consistent: I needed healing, rehab, and recovery. The turning point for me came when I was working a construction job and injured myself yet again. And yet again physical therapy helped me along the path to healing—so I was inspired to become a physical therapy aide at a hospital.
It wasn’t long before I knew that I’d found my niche in working with the body.
It was a natural next step to open my own massage therapy practice. I could see clients in a relaxed and uplifting setting that supported the healing process. I have enjoyed giving my clients the depth of personal attention they long for.
The experiences of my own clients opened my eyes to the limitless possibilities of healing. I saw clients come in on crutches or canes and walk out without them. Along the way I gathered a range of experience, tools, and techniques that only a small percentage of massage therapists and bodyworkers have access to.
Based on my experience and training, I have developed my own healing technique called mind-muscle integration.
How I approach you as a client …
Many people are not aware of the various aspects of their minds and bodies—and how past experiences can influence them. The cornerstone of my work is my intention to assist you in seeing beyond what you think is possible … and realizing how much control you ultimately have over your health. You have the power!
And for fun …
In my spare time, I love to keep balance in my life by being outdoors, playing basketball, hiking, snowboarding, catching the occasional movie, traveling with my wife, and laughing with friends and family.
